Why is the axial age so important in the history of religion?

Why is the axial age so important in the history of religion?

Define the axial age and tell why it is so important in the history of religion? How is religion different after the axial age from before? Topic 1: Historical Development of Religions

THE AXIAL AGE

The term “Axial Age†was coined by philosopher Karl Jaspers (1883 – 1969) to refer to the years 800 to 200 before the Common Era.  Other thinkers such as scholar Karen Armstrong (b. 1944), in her book The Great Transformation (2007), has expanded the phrase to include the beginning of the Common Era.  During this period a number of great thinkers arose in both the East and the West who transformed religion.  A large part of this transformation was an emphasis on human behavior rather than metaphysical speculation.

Some of the thinkers who have been included in the Axial Age are the Buddha, Confucius, and Tao Te Ching in the East, Moses, Socrates, and Zoroaster in the West, and later Jesus and Paul, Hillel and Mohammed.  Obviously we are dealing with a huge period of time.  The key idea is that, through the insights of a number of great thinkers throughout the world, religion was revolutionized.  According to Armstrong, suddenly in a number of parts of the world, there was a concern was how to live a life of compassion.  The thinking of all these thinkers is at the center of the world’s great religions today. In this Discussion, you will transform a clinical inquiry into a searchable question in PICO(T) format, so you can search the electronic databases more effectively and efficiently.

Discussion: Searching Databases When you decide to purchase a new car, you first decide what is important to you. If mileage and dependability are the important factors, you will search for data focused more on these factors and less on color options and sound systems. The same holds true when searching for research evidence to guide your clinical inquiry and professional decisions. Developing a formula for an answerable, researchable question that addresses your need will make the search process much more effective. One such formula is the PICO(T) format. In this Discussion, you will transform a clinical inquiry into a searchable question in PICO(T) format, so you can search the electronic databases more effectively and efficiently. You will share this PICO(T) question and examine strategies you might use to increase the rigor and effectiveness of a database search on your PICO(T) question. To Prepare: • Review the materials offering guidance on using databases, performing keyword searches, and developing PICO(T) questions provided in the Resources. • Review the Resources for guidance and develop a PICO(T) question of interest to you for further study. By Day 3 of Week 4 Post your PICO(T) question, the search terms used, and the names of at least two databases used for your PICO(T) question. Then, describe your search results in terms of the number of articles returned on original research and how this changed as you added search terms using your Boolean operators. Finally, explain strategies you might make to increase the rigor and effectiveness of a database search on your PICO(T) question. Be specific and provide examples.

Compose an informative essay that explores a new technological development in business.

Compose an informative essay that explores a new technological development in business.

In addition to explaining to your audience about the technology, you must also argue whether or not you believe this technology is ultimately beneficial to the field, elaborating why or why not by exploring potential applications, dangers, and/or limitations. For instance, while digitized textbooks may sound like a novel resource in education, what about students who do not have regular or reliable internet access?

In order to help you to explain your technology, you should conduct research on your topic and incorporate quotations and/or paraphrases from three outside sources within your essay.

You should submit a 1,000-word essay (not counting the Works Cited page), typed and double-spaced.

Use Times New Roman font in 12-pt size.

The topics I want to talk about:

Web Conferencing

The rapid growth in usage of applications such as Zoom and Google Meet has provided a greater number of salespeople and customer support representatives with an easy way to visually communicate with prospects and customers.

Mobile Apps

Mobile apps for business user have proliferated. Now, business users can use mobile apps to access a CRM system, view or update shared documents, make and receive phone calls via their organization’s IP phone system, participate in web conferences and more.

Content Management Systems

Now that companies can build entire corporate websites on platforms such as WordPress, Drupal and Sitecore, almost gone are the days of static websites that require someone fluent in HTML, CSS and JavaScript to create and update. Business of all sizes can easily modify most content without having to hire a web developer. However, there’s still a place for specialists, as these platforms can be extended in a variety of ways
