Organizational Structures: Functional, Service Line, Matrix, & Flat

 

Goal: To analyze the four types of Organizational Structures.

Content Requirements:

  1. Identify and describe each type of organizational structure (functional, service line, matrix and flat)
  2. Create an organizational chart for each organizational structure discussed above and describe which one applies to the clinical site or your work environment.
  3. Develop simple mission statements that could be supported by each type of structure and present a rationale for their selection of the type of structure.

I chose interface to discuss. The interface in the electronic medical record system is truly remarkable. When the monitor displaying vital signs and other patient data seamlessly transfers that information to the patient's chart on the computer without the need for manual data entry, it significantly streamlines our workflow. As a nurse, you simply click to confirm that the vital signs are accurate while entering them, saving you a significant amount of time. The advantages of using an interface have proven to be incredibly beneficial in my daily nursing duties.

 Objective Documentation in Provider Notes – this is to be completed using the documentation template that is provided. Document in a systematic order starting from head-to-toe, include what you see, hear, and feel when doing your physical exam using medical terminology/jargon. Document all normal and abnormal exam findings. Do not use “WNL” or “normal”. You only need to examine the systems that are pertinent to the CC, HPI, and History.
