Practicum Experience Plan 

Overview:

Your Practicum experience includes working in a clinical setting that will help you gain the knowledge and skills needed as an advanced practice nurse. In your practicum experience, you will develop a practicum plan that sets forth objectives to frame and guide your practicum experience. 

As part of your Practicum Experience Plan, you will not only plan for your learning in your practicum experience but also work through various patient visits with focused notes as well as one (1) journal entry.

Part 2: Individualized Practicum Learning Objectives

Refer to the instructions in Week 2 to create individualized practicum learning objectives that meet the requirements for this course. These objectives should be aligned specifically to your Practicum experience. Your objectives should address your self-assessment of the skills found in the “PMHNP Clinical Skills Self-Assessment Form” you completed in Week 1. 

As you develop your individualized practicum learning objective, be sure to write them using the SMART format. Use the resources found in Week 2 to guide your development. Once you review your resources, continue and complete the following. Note: Please make sure each of your objectives are connected to your self-assessment. Also, consider that you will need to demonstrate how you are advancing your knowledge in the clinical specialty.

choose two of the Nine Tenets of the Code of Ethics for Nurses and describe how you will personally apply each tenet in the practice setting with your patients. Describe in detail the purpose of the tenet and provide examples of the tenet applied in practice. Explain why it is important to uphold the tenet in maximizing the quality of patient care, and identify how it enhances your own practice as a nurse.

Include a title page and a reference page to cite your text. Adhere to APA formatting throughout, and cite any outside sources you may use.

 As their names imply, the honeyguide bird and the honey badger both share an affinity for honey. Honeyguide birds specialize in finding beehives but struggle to access the honey within. Honey badgers are well-equipped to raid beehives but cannot always find them. However, these two honey-loving species have learned to collaborate on an effective means to meet their objectives. The honeyguide bird guides honey badgers to newly discovered hives. Once the honey badger has ransacked the hive, the honey guide bird safely enters to enjoy the leftover honey.

As we begin to explore the concept of health promotion, please respond to the following:

· Discuss the differences in primary, secondary, and tertiary prevention.

· Identify two patient-focused topics of interest from the Healthy People 2030 website that interest you.

· For each topic, identify an objective from the Healthy People 2030 website on which you would like to focus.

· Why are these topics of interest to you? Provide a rationale for your selections.

Please note that you need to support your post with a scholarly source that is referenced using APA format and include in-text citations where you are using the referenced material in your post.  You are expected to respond to the discussion prompt with your initial post by the 3rd day of the unit week.  After submitting your initial post, respond to at least two other student posts.  Your responses should be thoughtful, respectful, and substantially add value to the discussion.  You should respond to your peers throughout the unit week, but all responses need to be submitted no later than the last day of the unit week.

There are many ways of knowing. Think about how you learn in both your personal and professional life. Discuss various ways you have gained knowledge through your observational experiences during your capstone practicum by answering the following questions:

• What is the focus of your capstone practicum?
• What have you observed thus far?
• How do you determine if the information presented is valid and accurate?
• Review the “hierarchy of evidence” model and determine where you seek most of your information for both your personal and professional life and why.
• Provide personal examples.
• Include at least 2 scholarly articles supporting your statements.
